The Sound of Music North American Tour

NetWorks Presentations has announced that a brand new production of The Sound of Music will tour North America beginning September 2015. This lavish new production will launch at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, under the auspices of the Center Theatre Group, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons.

I can think of few in this business who would make such a claim without a wry smile on their face. ;)

I saw the Toronto version a few years back, with the winner of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria. It was decent but I wasn't blown away. It's one of my favorite movies so I think it would take a hell of a stage show to compare.

Three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien, will direct the previously announced Sound of Music multi-year tour of North America beginning in September.

More details have been announced, including casting, for the new Sound of Music North American tour. This lavish new production launches this September at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, under the auspices of the Center Theatre Group, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons, playing multi-week and week-long engagements.

Maria Knasel, former Ballet Girl on the International Tour of BETM, will play one of the Von Trapp children in the National Tour of The Sound of Music.
