It is quite clear why Cicely Tyson won a Tony for her work in this play. She gives an amazing and highly amusing turn as Mrs Watts in this moving drama about family relationships. Well worth seeing for those in cities where this will be playing.

I sat in for a few minutes of the talkback after the show. It was interesting hearing Blair Underwood comment on what it means to him to be back in live theatre and experience the feedback from the audience. Totally different from acting in front of a camera, doing multiple takes until the director is happy with the scene. Instead, Blair notes, on stage it is all on the actor and the response of the audience provides the energy. Described it as a "dance" between the two.

I imagine Blair may not be the first to describe it in those terms, but he did so very eloquently.
