Despite the written norwegian is quite comprehensive if you can speak danish or swedish, the melody of the spoken language though, makes it hard to listen to it. Instead of running words together like in most other languages they obviously speak slow and fast. Sometimes like putting words in sixteenth notes sequences.

Here are a few bits (few exact words but mostly in general):
- I'm Thomas Kvamme Urnes.
- And you've gotten a role in Billy Elliot the musical that starts this september here?! Who are you playing?
- I'll play Billy's best friend Michael.
- You will play Michael ?!
- Ähä.
- Was it easy to get that role?
- ..........[talking to fast for my sluggish brain cells  ]....That was a tough battle against 50 others.
- 50 others?
- yeah!
(Cut)
(Kristoffer Solberg)
- You are going to play a role in the production of Billy Elliot?!
- That's right.
- Which role did you get?
- I am big Billy and Ensemble, Billy when he's adult , the way he dreams of himself to become when he's grown up...
(Cut)
(Elisabeth Østvang Gundersen)
- I am Ensemble, choir and police. ...
- And that means..?
- That means I'm going to fill in, sing choir voices....
(Cut)...(Cut)
Jonas Rønning explaines what the character of George is like.

It would be very much appreciated if anyone from Norway could write transscripts of the videos linked here. Also in norwegian.
So Kids, if you happen to read this, get yourselves a username and look at it like it's a homework assignment. ;)    You can be assured of our thankfulness. :)

There are new short videos of Shine and Merry Christmas Maggie on their facebook site:

Well at least with Shine they still got some work ahead
I look forward to watch this completely different staging of 'Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher'. It seems to be very crisp already.

If there is anyone who'd like to win tickets for this production, you just have to write down your dream.
Billy's dream is to dance - what is yours?! If you could pursue your biggest dream in life - what would you do? Share your dream with us and be in the draw for tickets to the musical "Billy Elliot" at the Folk Theatre in Oslo which premieres 18.09

25,000 tickets have been sold, according to this article:

http://www.aftenposten.no/kultur/25-000 ... 99966.html

On the stage including Nils Ole Oftebro, Hilde Lyrån and Yoga Fire vocalist Benjamin Helstad. And the public has almost rushed to the ticket counter: 25,000 tickets have already been sold.

- It's amazing, says Andrea Volsdalen Skirbekk with production company Stage Evenings AS, which sets up the musical. - Pre-sales is similar to what we experienced with Annie , which was a huge success.

Rush at Easter
The first tickets were issued in December last year, but only at Easter sales began to take off.

- I think the interest is because we have established a West End / Broadway scene in Oslo, where people know they are getting quality, mean Skirbekk. - Under Annie , we had not a single empty seat, and we hope it will happen to Billy Elliot as well, although there is such a familiar piece.

The musical Billy Elliot is based on the movie of the same name from 2000.

It was nominated for 3 Oscar and 13 Bafta awards. The musical was set up for the first time in the West End of London in 2005.

The music is by Elton John, text and lyrics by Lee Hall. Rights of Billy Elliot has just been available outside the West End and Broadway. Wherefore now four theater in Scandinavia it up, but Norway is the first.

Here's a video from the auditions:

At the audition for Billy Elliot
A thousand children, over 800 of them girls, danced and sang at the audition for the musical Billy Elliot at Bastion. But Billy was headhunted for many months ago.

TheTweetE-post
The story of working class boy who begins to dance ballet while the family believes he learns to box was set up as a musical in London, with music by Elton John, in 2005, but have since gone there and now it is set up in Oslo as number two city in Europe.

Out in the world it is set up in several places, and is watched by eight million people so far.

10 boys and 20 girls, maybe even more so the kids can take turns to play, the production company needs. Billy is already in place. He was headhunted last October. But he will dance along with 12 jenteballerinaer and

So groups of girls and boys danced in front of a long table on stage with adult producers and choreographers.

A lot of waiting
Ten year old Emilia Osorio-Jensen and Cecilia Maria Braathen Reif St Hans Haugen thought it was fun.

- But it has been very much waiting, too, believe Cecilia. Singing loud alone was the most difficult task.

- I was very embarrassed when I stood on stage and sing. I was very afraid of doing something wrong, says Emilia.

To dance in front of a long table on the stage where choreographers, producers and other adults sat, did not so much.

- They looked very nice, smiling all the time, so it was good, says Emilia.

Billy is in the bag
The role of Billy was already in the box. He was headhunted in October. Kevin Haugan is an experienced guy of 12 years, who has played Klatremus in Hakkebakkeskogen and roles in Oliver Twist and Pippi Longstocking.

- I am very excited to be on stage, says Kevin.

Before he decided, he was in London and saw the musical there. And he saw that he could say yes.

- I realized that I would be able to learn it, says Kevin.

But it requires a lot of practice. Every day he trains between three and four hours, both with others and alone. For there is much to learn, both different styles like ballet, step, acrobatics and of course singing.

When is it okay for parents driver Bårdar dance institute, so they get seen little to him. Mom and Dad Hilde Haugan Freddy Haugan provided with training.

- He trains at our job, and I have been a ballet dancer, so I can help him, says mum Hilde Haugan.

High level
Manufacturer Kari Anne Jaeger from the production company Scenekveldervar one of those who sat and watched. She is impressed with the level.

- I am very grateful that they dare to stand there and pretend to us that way. I have a very good day at work, says Jaeger.

She is particularly looking for Michael and Debbie, the other two important roles in the play. Billy Elliot's girlfriend Debbie must both be tough, a good dancer and good at singing.

- I think I've seen Debbie. Maybe a few pieces. I do not know. But there are many girls yet again, says Jaeger.
