Re: Chat about BETM UK/Ireland Tour
Was that Adam during the interview with BBC Radio Solent who said he had originally been lined up to play in London ?
Below is a link to an interview by Brum Radio which took place in Manchester !? The interview with Annette, Martin and Scott is fairly humdrum and uninformative, largely due to the interviewer. However, there are a number of tracks played from the show, and Scott mentions that some (not many) of the cast will "finish in May" due to contractual reasons. I assume that this is immediately after the Birmingham venue, originally the last venue. They may well have already committed themselves to other productions. It seems therefore that Liverpool and Milton Keynes might see changes, not just Hamburg. Scott also says that he is not aware of any plans to continue with the production anywhere after July. It seems that at least in the short to medium term there will be no UK production. Interview 30 minutes from 04:30 to 35:00.

Re: Chat about BETM UK/Ireland Tour
I would guess that the contractual issues would relate to the adult cast, but logic tells me that there must still be reserve Billies in training. Adam, in particular, is at an age where his time could be limited, the production team must have all eventualities covered. This suggests that there is the possibility that there are reserve Billies waiting in the wings, next in line and almost ready to go, who will never get the chance to perform the role, or, at least, not in a major production, because the show will close before their moment comes. I find that very sad, and it must be very difficult for those boys to keep the intensity in their training if they have little hope of making it onto the stage.Real Geordie wrote:Was that Adam during the interview with BBC Radio Solent who said he had originally been lined up to play in London ?

Re: Chat about BETM UK/Ireland Tour
BETM, shortly to arrive at the just under 2,000 seat Birmingham Hippodrome, home of resident company Birmingham Royal Ballet. For those attending, or thinking of attending, during March/April, some travel information . If you are arriving by train and going direct to the Hippodrome (ie not via an hotel) then leave New Street station by the Southside exit*. The theatre is situated in the centre of Birmingham about 300 yards from New Street station. If in doubt ask anyone for the Station Street exit, then proceed along Hill Street and Hurst Street. If you are arriving by car, may the Lord have mercy on you - the inner ring road system can be unforgiving of wrong turns. If you are arriving by air, there is a direct rail link to New Street with a frequent service and journey time of about twenty minutes. If you are arriving by sea - you may have made the wrong choice. There are plenty of bars and eateries in the immediate vicinity, with a number of good real ale boozers within a ten minutes walk. The theatre is situated in the Chinatown district, but all cuisine styles are catered for. I’ve always found Brummies to be a friendly bunch, and welcoming to visitors. I think we can guess who will be Billy on stage for press night - local boy Lewis. Incidentally, for any dance aficionado, this performance** is on just before Billy hits town.
