You never forget
how to be from Massachusetts when you're from Massachusetts.

As one from Massachusetts, born and raised and educated not all that far away from the very school that published this poem, I find so much to praise in it. This is a mature poem for such a young writer; yet it is full of imagery and allusion that only a native of the Commonwealth can fully grasp. I would imagine that Noah's journey around North America has served to strengthen the bond with home, and I sense in this poem his relief to have returned. I know exactly how he feels. 'In truth Massachusetts is not Taxachusetts, not full of Massholes.' Indeed.

Bravo, Noah. Save this poem, and place the magazine in which is printed into your college application file.

Here is a nice video of Noah performing "Leave" at Dance for World Community in June. Looks like his injury from earlier this year in LA has healed well.

This is excellent review of Boston Ballet's Next Generation, which has three former Billys among its ranks: Peter Mazurowski, Lex Ishimoto, and Noah Parets. It is glowing.

This is written about Noah:
Noah Parets is the kind of performer one always hopes to see and rarely does. The smallest of the three jesters, Parets lit up like a Christmas tree when he was onstage. His joy was so infectious I could hardly take my eyes off him. He smiled as if he was having the time of his life while executing all kinds of acrobatic moves, and his eyes flashed at the audience as if to say without a trace of conceit, “Look what I can do! Isn’t it great?” He exudes a special kind of stage presence that invites the audience to share his exhilaration, and it’s irresistible.

Noah's mum, Robyn, has linked this story on WebMD about Noah's recovery from last year's incident in which he broke his arm in preparation for BETM at La Mirada:

He begins as a trainee at Boston Ballet tomorrow.

Noah's mom has posted a new blog in her Away from Om series. This one describes some choices Noah has made about his future in ballet.

WCVB in Boston aired this chronicle about young dancers and the Boston Ballet. Noah appears around the 2:25 point, discussing a recent injury he sustained, and how his treatment has made him a stronger dancer.
