Disney Theatrical Productions' "Get Up and Go" program uses dances from Disney Broadway productions to encourage kids to stay active. Earlier today the cast of Newsies did a routine from "Seize the Day" in Times Square on ABC's Good Morning America.

Cast members from the soon-to-close Broadway production of Newsies will take part in a one-night Stop the Presses: Newsboys of New York Rally concert at 54 Below on August 14, according to this article in Theatermania:

Any of you NY experts know if I have any chance of getting Newsies tickets from TKTS next weekend? I know def not sunday for the last show, but Friday or Saturday.
I really want my folks to see the show before it closes, but I find $165 per ticket really high, especially when I have to pay for 3 tickets.
Any advice you guys have would be great!

Looking at the ticket site there appear to be a lot of seats left for Friday and Saturday. It would seem likely some will be on TKTS, but you take a risk that only the upper mezz seats will be there. You never know. The show is also starting a tour this fall. Hopefully it will make it to your area in the next season or two.

Its coming to Toronto next summer. But it's one of those shows I've fallen in love with. Great music and a stage full of dancing men.... what more could we ask for???

I don't know for sure, but when I went again this past Tuesday, there were a lot of open seats in advance of the show, but a very full house at the show. It led me to believe many are being sold through TKTS. I have no facts, but I do think you'd have a good chance. If you get into the city the day before or earlier, and find an emptyish time on line, you can ask the TKTS people how many they have had lately. Good luck!

A great little re-write of Green Day's "Good Riddance" sung by some of the boys of Newsies at 54 Below:

Here is the curtain call from today's final performance of Newsies on Broadway. Giuseppe can be seen several times, easy to spot with that cigar. :D

Thanks for posting that! I got to see Fridays show, and it was great. Could tell that the audience was filled with a lot of hardcore fans. It was a great atmosphere and a very memorable show!
