Bad news:

Eszter Csákány won't be playing grandma for the rest of the summer due to her illness. She'll be back in December
Kristof Németh has injured himself and won't be playing on 6th, 9th and 10th August.

For latest cast info check Operaház home page at

I wish both of them speedy recovery!

Changes have been made accordingly on the Budapest tracking thread. Thanks for the update Darth_Revan.

Finally, several series of Billy Elliot – The Musical, which had its Hungarian premiere recently to significant critical acclaim, are featured throughout the season in the non-replica production by director Tamás Szirtes and choreographer Ákos Tihanyi. This exciting project by the Hungarian State Opera attempts to attract audiences who prefer “lighter” genres as well as to inspire children to try themselves in the world of ballet.

Can you trust tv news?
A small news segment about the Hungarian production on the evening news program
And they could not find out the name of the person they talked to.
He's John, not Áron.

The director of the Hungarian State Opera has rejected the accusation of promoting homosexuality.
He was heavily criticised by a pro-government author for his decision to stage Billy Elliot, a musical about a motherless boy in a mining community who becomes a ballet dancer.

I don't know if there are many Billy Elliot fans who also like horror films (!) but if so, watch out for the Hungarian Billy Elliot Levente Puczko-Smith in Ari Aster's new film Midsommar coming soon! He is Ruben the Painter. Quite a transformation from the elegance of ballet!! — with Laszlo Puczko.

I can find nothing more about him but well done
