Liam will hardly get any time off after his run at Signature Theatre ends this week. He will play Billy again very soon at Seacoast Rep in Portsmouth, opening Feb. 7th. Congrats again, Liam!

That is fantastic news! Liam's portrayal of Billy is superb, matching the best that I've ever seen. Those who haven't seen him yet ought to consider strongly this next opportunity since the Signature production has long sold out the remaining shows. Yes, traveling in New England in February can be tough, but even still it will be worth it.

PORTSMOUTH – Thirteen-year-old Liam Redford has been preparing most of his life for his starring role in “Billy Elliot: The Musical,” the Seacoast Repertory Theatre’s new production about a boy who faces family doubts, gender stereotypes and community strife in an English mining town as he pursues his passion as a dancer.

Liam Redford is a New Jersey resident who started dancing when he was seven and has played as Billy in two previous productions. The fictional character’s path mirrors his own in some ways, he said, while the production sends a valuable message of acceptance and community bonds.

Atlanta newspaper’s view of Liam Redford:

Perhaps you realize by now that the whole show revolves around a young boy (in this case 13-years-old, Liam Redford’s age) and the prodigious talent and stamina he must possess. Consider: he must be able to act, sing, dance (and all very well!) and speak in a difficult-to-learn Northern English accent. Do you think it’s easy to find such a person? The film’s director saw 2000 boys before casting Jamie Bell. It’s the same with the stage production. All I can say is “Bravo, Mr. Redford.” You are the real deal. He has played it nationally three times before.

Liam Redford - seacoast review
please excuse the delay of this review. I have been battling some health issues and will be having back surgery in a few weeks.

I had the privilege of attending seacoast's production of Billy Elliot. What a wonderful, exciting, thrilling production this little theater produced. The intimate setting is perfect for the story of Billy. Everything about this production was first class. The standout was Liam Redford. WOW what a dynamite little performer. He has everything you would want for this role. I just can't say enough about how wonderful it was to watch him light up the stage. I notice he is getting many more opportunities to play the role so I would strongly recommend trying to get a chance to see him.

This publicity story for the Opera House / Wilmington production has some good action shots of Liam jumping while the rest of the cast watches.
