Layton Williams
Re: Layton Williams
Excuse me, but Layton explicitly says that the Billy House was NOT just another boarding school. He basically says that, when he was there, almost everyone (!) was gay, and that this was a great experience for him - in contrast to being an effeminate gay boy at a normal school, an experience he also had. So it doesn't matter what you expect - he tells us his experiences, and I think we should respect them.

Re: Layton Williams
I do not interpret his words the same way that you do. But in any case, as far as I'm concerned, it is a non-issue that I am not going to argue about. You are welcome to read it as you wish--as is everyone else.
Meanwhile, we are getting off topic, which is information about Layton. This thread is not about debating whether all (or some) of the kids in the show are gay, or were gay at the time that Layton was a member of the cast.
Let's move on.

Moving on.
It is great to see Layton is another Billy who has been able to continue performing and seemingly make a living out of doing what he loves to do.

Re: Layton Williams
I did not see Layton performing as Billy, because I discovered the show long after he left the show, but I just realized I did see him on stage nevertheless a couple of month ago when I watched the Car Man with Liam.
And I didn't know I was watching 2 former Billys

Yes, you got a twofer. Layton has been performing in this production since it opened, as has Liam.
Soon you will be able to catch him as part of the UK tour of Hairspray:

Layton celebrates National Dance Day:

Actually, it should be International Dance Day, as it is being celebrated in the UK, the US, and probably other countries as well.

Re: Layton Williams
Allow me to depart from Layton's thread just to clarify what Ellen mentions above.
Now, back to Layton..........
National Dance Day (July 25th) National Dance Day is observed each year on the last Saturday in July. Created as a day to raise awareness about and encourage Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and combat obesity.
National Dance Day achieved national recognition when in 2010, long-time proponent of healthy lifestyles, American congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, introduced a National Dance Day resolution to promote dance education and physical fitness.

Info courtesy of Wikipedia.International Dance Day (April 29th) was introduced in 1982 by the International Dance Council (CID, Conseil International de la Danse), a UNESCO partner NGO, and is celebrated yearly, on April 29. The date is not linked to a particular person or a particular form of dance, although it's also the day when the French dancer and ballet master Jean-Georges Noverre was born. The main purpose of Dance Day events is to attract the attention of the wider public to the art of dance. Emphasis should be given to addressing a new public, people who do not follow dance events during the course of the year.

Re: Layton Williams
That's interesting to know. It's nice that Layton took time out of his busy two-performance schedule to acknowledge the day even though it is technically American. Somehow, I get the impression that Layton takes every opportunity to celebrate what he loves.
