Yesterday I went to see the low budget but professional final show. La cage Aux Falles for 2014. . On the way home ,I was stunned to find a former Australian Billy in the cast.It is Josh's first stage production since finishing High School

Joshua has renamed himself as Josh Gates and made his appearance as one of the cagelles. The star of the show Todd Mckenney , also started of as a cagelle in the original Australian production.
Todd starred for almost 4 years as Peter Allen in the Boy from OZ and ropable when passed over for the Broadway production

Both Todd Mckenney and Simon Burke have appeared in most of Australian big musicals over the past 20 years Simon played Georges in London and other shows in last 10 years.
Both have had increasing roles in TV shows more recently.

I must admit to have been stunned at the singing voices of the three main leads. Todd, Simon and new boy Robert Tripolino who played Jean Michel, were outstanding in every way.

Josh all the best for a great career on the stage. This is your third production and you had 4 years away at school in the meantime.

BTW I noticed that 3 members of Patrick's including Josh were in the small cast The others were Spencer Bignell who played Etienne and Taylor Scanlan also a cagelle.

Just came across the notice that Benjamin Cheng is to play Billy in Memphis later this year. However he is currently starring as young Peter in the Boy from OZ. Then goes on to do Peter Pan. It was young Peter in this role that Josh Gates appeared before his long run in Billy in both Sydney and Melbourne.
I must admit to be surprised to see this show touring in the US .
Looks like he is going to be a sensation.

Was having a drink with a friend who went to see the short season of Anything Goes in Melbourne. In passing he mentioned Josh [ua] Gates was playing a part and he was most impressed.

A stampede for a ticket to see the show before it finishes. I am not sure if there is a repeat season in Sydney.

Josh I believe has just finished his 6 month run in Anything Goes in Sydney
He played a junior role and his tap dancing skills came into action in a very fast moving production.
I hope he goes onto bigger and better shows as he matures.

He has shortened his name to Josh Gates Perhaps we can amend his name to include his shortened name

Since no link was given when this production was mentioned two posts back, I have backtracked to find a listing for the full cast of "Anything Goes" here: http://aussietheatre.com.au/news/full-c ... alian-tour

As andrewcraig has noted, Josh is now using just the name Josh Gates, so I will change his name in the title of his thread to reflect that.

Note: I also discovered that there were two separate threads for Josh, so I have merged the two.
