James Hobley

Post by rob_hanson1979 »

Hey guys,
I'm not sure if any of you have heard of James Hobley, but he's an English dancer with autism who appeared on Britain's Got Talent. He was also recently accepted to the English National Ballet School.
Unfortunately he was attacked and assaulted this week and had to undergo surgery. He's also going to need some teeth and his nose fixed. It's a very sad situation.
I wanted to post a link to his GoFundMe account because I know you guys like to support the arts and dancers, and it sounds like his mom and he will need a lot of support if he's going to continue following his dreams.
Thanks!

That link is for the page to fund his ENBS tuition. I see nothing on it about his having been attacked and needing money for treatment. Do you have a link that provides that information, please?

No problem...
Here is information from his mom's facebook account. Her posts about this are public, so it shouldn't be an issue sharing it here...

That link didn't work unless you are already on FB. Here are direct links to his mom's posts about the incident. I feel very bad for James and his family. It must be frightening!
She talks about how this is costing a fortune, but so far does not seem to be asking for donations to cover medical expenses, only his dance school.

Please remember that information shared on this forum must be public. Please do not post information without a public link to confirm it. As many times as this has been said on this forum, it should not be necessary for a link for information that has been posted on here to be chased down by another member. If you can't give a link in the first place, then don't post the information until you can provide one!

Thanks.

With all due respect, I posted the links, and Chris did as well. If you don't want the post on here, just delete it. All I'm trying to do is give people here the chance to help if they want to.

I understood your motivation, and I think giving people the information to donate to help out with James's medical care was fine.
I would encourage anyone who wishes to help out to do so.

But as I said in my original response, the problem was that the gofundme link included no reference to the statement that he had been assaulted and needed help with medical expenses. That's where the need for a public link to substantiate the post arose.

Here's a nice article with some updates to James' life in the past two years. He seems to be doing quite well lately. He is now a pupil at London's English National Ballet School!

Throw back for those who don't realise there's a Billy connection, as it's not mentioned in the thread, here he is practicing with Scott. I'm pleased to hear he is doing well. https://youtu.be/RVEHvbW1Nq0?t=26
