Billy Elliot sing-a-long

Post by rob_hanson1979 »

I was just thinking how cool it would be to have them do a singalong performance, where all the die hard fans (us) could go see the show, and sing along to everything. They do it with movies sometimes, especially the Rocky Horror Picture Show. And at the end of Mamma Mia they always encourage people to sing and dance. Would love to be able to do that with Billy.
Cause lets face it, its a bit of a chore to sit silently during the show. I survive only by being able to tap my fingers.

I taught myself to play a piano cover of Electricity soon after I saw the show by listening to the youtubes of Liam and EJ, including the non vocal instrumental sections that begin with the rock version of swan lake. So if you can manage to fly out here in April to enjoy the show with me, then you can also sing (and dance ?!) your way through the number while I play it for you :P

I think there's a Billy Elliot songbook that you can buy. That might help you and rob along.

I was more saying I would love it if, say, the London show picked a date for a "sing a long" version where the audience could sing out loud with the performers during the show. I wouldn't want that to happen often, because the singers are so amazing, however one time it would be a lot of fun to get all the super fans together and have everyone sing!

Didn't we already attempt that at the various 'workshops' Thommie Retter held? And yes we looked pretty bad.
