Re: London Auditions
Looks like they are specifically also looking for girls to play the role of Debbie in those Newcastle auditions on March 5 that I posted about earlier.

Re: London Auditions
All the London Debbies are chosen from the Northeast. The ballet girls come from within an hour's trip of London, so that they can attend their own schools and just travel into town when their teams are on, but the Debbies move down to London and live in the Billy House.

Re: London Auditions
Hard to believe no Geordie boy has played Billy........although Connor Lawson (Michael) comes from Shotton Colliery, only a few miles away from Easington.ERinVA wrote:Auditions for Billy were just held in Newcastle. Here's an article from the Evening Chronicle:

Re: London Auditions
The article says that two Geordies have played Michael, but there have been no Geordie Billys.

Re: London Auditions
I still find it hard to believe. Maybe - just maybe - the societal pressure against boys dancing there today is a true reflection of what the fictional Billy faced 28 years ago. I hope not. I hope it is just a fluke.ERinVA wrote:The article says that two Geordies have played Michael, but there have been no Geordie Billys.
