The New York Times provides this extensive article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/30/arts/ ... .html?_r=0
Mr. Daldry became involved in the project early on, together with the producer Andy Harries. Their pitch: Six 10-episode seasons that would each span roughly a decade of the queen’s reign, covering both the personal events within the royal family circle and the political events of the time.

“We wanted to do the first two seasons straight up, no pilot,” said Mr. Daldry, whose other credits include “The Reader,” “The Hours” and “Billy Elliot.” “It was demanding from us, but we felt confident and excited about the material and we wanted a serious commitment.”

During our conversation Daldry’s attention is occasionally diverted by his phone screen but be assured he’s not sneaking a peak at his Instagram feed. “As I’m talking to you now I’m picking up details of what’s going on about the clearances in the camp. It sounds terrible.”

Daldry has had more than a concerned citizen’s interest in the Calais refugee camp since he became involved in the Good Chance theatre project, which set up a “theatre of hope” in the now demolished “Jungle”, playing host to visiting talent including Jude Law and Benedict Cumberbatch and providing a forum for refugees to tell their own stories.

It is very well done watched it all the way through! I love his style of directing thought you can just tell between him and the other directors. There is more sustenance to me than the other directors of The Crown.

And on a side note I'm glad he's not directing Frozen The Musical. Disney or not, I fear another broadway disaster on the horizon, like "Spider Man" was blahh. (not to be confused with the current Spider Man of course.)

Unless he has taken up boxing, I believe he accepted a Golden Globe Award:

CONTROVERSIAL drama The Crown won big at the Golden Globes, but producer Stephen Daldry has warned The Queen never to watch the show.

The big budget series picked up Best Television Series in the drama category and also claimed a best actress gong for Claire Foy, but has raised eyebrows for its near-the-knuckle portrayal of the family.Racy scenes include showing Matt Smith as Prince Phillip completely nude and a sex scene, and another in which the Duke of Edinburgh makes a cheeky joke about oral sex to The Queen, played by Foy.

And Stephen Daldry, the show’s executive producer admits he hopes Her Majesty is not tempted to watch the show despite its recent accolades.

The film-maker, 56, whose previous credits include Billy Elliot and The Hours, said: “I sincerely hope they don’t watch it and nor should they.

From the article's title: ‘controversial’ issues that outraged palace aids

Ummm, I think the correct word is "aides," not "aids." :? But then this did come from the Sun after all.

A "fan girl" was at a recent show and Daldry was in attendance she asked him if Billy was coming back and to my shock he replied "I'm working very hard on that." This is the first I have heard Stephen speaking directly to the question. Very cool!

Also, sorry for my absence my me job has me running mad.
