This name in the list threw me for a bit.
Best actor in a supporting role in a musical:
George Maguire for Sunny Afternoon at Hampstead theatre and Harold Pinter theatre
After further research it seems this is not BETM's George Maguire:

Based on the appearances on This Morning, I'm not surprised Wicked won. Not because BETM gave a bad performance, but because Wicked gave an awesome one.

I think a better vote-grabber would have been singing Electricty, or maybe the full Expressing Yourself, rather than the standard tv appearance "tap from Expressing Yourself/finale with jokes in".
Occam's razor: The simplest answer is the most probable.

Oliver's razor: The most boring answer is the most probable.

Possibly. The 'made for tv' version of Expressing is rather well known to the British public. Perhaps better, for once, would have been to have Ruthie and a Billy (and Dead Mom) do The Letter? Sometimes I think too much publicity is given to the kids having a lark, at the expense of the adults' role in the musical.

Or....a bit of 'Electricity', for a change?

Here is Brodie's performance of "Electricity" at today's Olivier Awards in Covent Garden. Well done Brodie!

Here are Ruthie, Deka and Ollie (not Brodie) being interviewed on the Red Carpet:

I agree 100% Oliver.... Going by the This Morning performances ALONE, Wicked easily deserved to win the award.

The company at Billy worked so hard to garner votes with constant Twitter & Facebook messages, and they also came up with that excellent skit at the end of each show. However, this was only ever going to win them a limited amount of votes, they were preaching to the converted! It was their performance on the 'This Morning' show (A show that is watched by 1.5 million viewers daily) that was the potential big vote winner, and quite simply, they blew it! The performance was lacklustre, and it had nothing to do with the boys performing.

Why do the company continually use the same tired 'Expressing Yourself' routine when they make T.V appearances? It doesn't work! If you have a five minute slot on a programme, and your trying to attract a new audience, or in this case, win votes..... you have to encapsulate what is so great about the show in the time you are given. Billy failed to do that, and that is why they lost!

Emma Hatton from Wicked is a fantastic performer, with a great voice. The Wicked performance on 'This Morning' showcased those talents perfectly. Congratulations to them on their win.

This is what, I believe, the This Morning appearance should have been.

It would have been more suitable...... Even with this though, they messed up a bit. The wow factor at the VPT for the audience during Brodie's Electricity is his wall flip, and yet no wall flip in this performance. I very much doubt that this was Brodie's decision. It's like their trying not to impress. Someone at The VPT is not doing their job properly!
