The question arises, will there be two shows on the Saturday or just the one final show? If the evening show is to be the final performance, why would they remove the matinee from the booking schedule as well. With a "Gala" performance to come I would expect that last minute rehearsals might take place onstage during the afternoon and up to kick-off time. Maybe even they haven't decided yet.

Pat,

So you're nominated to bully them into the best thing.

Your name was put forward and it was moved and seconded and with nothing but yes votes from everyone on hand, you're the new "Bully in Chief" to find out the real story and all the secret handshakes and who best to bribe to get seats for that final show.

I already got mine for the entire week preceding. All that's left to fill in is Saturday.

Congratulations Pat!!!!!

That would be fantastic! Fingers crossed for the people like Cindythenurse who already have tickets for the ninth!

Nah. I was once (mis)cast as the village bully in a movie. Didn't go well. ;)

Apologies if it was already mentioned, but our last Broadway show was originally a 2-show day, and they changed it to one 3 PM performance instead to allow for all the extra rehearsal time needed before + party time afterward. Anything's still possible at this point, so my best advice is to keep yourself aware of the ticketing as much as you can in the weeks and months ahead, because if and when they do stir it up into one final performance, and a new set of tickets are sold (and other tickets later refunded), you'll not want to be at the back of the stalls or elsewhere too far away.

For the last Broadway show, retired original Grandma, Dad, ballet girls, and other cast members and their families were scattered throughout the Orchestra section (Stalls) as well, and that was after just a 3-year run, so you can imagine how many insiders will be invited for the final London show after 11 years.

Good luck though! :D

'Billy Elliot effect'
I like it :)
Even if the show will end, its legacy will stay with us.

Maybe that's the final show, as per Broadway.

Two tickets were showing available. I phoned the VP and was told that it was mistake and the matinee should not have come back on the system.

Most, if not all, of the ticket agencies are now not taking any bookings for April 9th. It will be interesting to see if my reservation with Ticketmaster holds. I don't have a lot of hope.
