I don't believe there is any rail service from Edmonton to Calgary. Although there should be!

The trunks arrived in Ottawa late Monday night for a Tuesday opening.

Unfortunately, just the trunks made it via the Canadian mail service. The trucks have been eliminated in a cost saving move. :o

You are right (though an internet search shows that this subject has been discussed for years).

Looking at the photo of the table*, I can see that it might be on a coach, where four seats face in to a table, which is common on some passenger rail cars. I haven't seen this before on a coach except in the UK, and not for some time there (safety, I guess). So I guess they had a coach with tables.

In addition to working in the travel industry and dealing with these cities often, my ex boyfriend also lived in Edmonton and we occasionally drove to Calgary for his dance competitions. Train service between the two should be a no brainer, and the train could also stop at the Edmonton airport(which is located really far outside the city).

Could you please elaborate?

What do the trunks contain, the complete set, costumes, ?

I thought the trucks got delayed en route from Dakota to Alberta... so what's the reference to trucks having been eli, inated in a cost saving move?

I was joking, Eltonjohn.

When ERinVA jokingly poked fun at LiamM's misspelling of "trucks" when he said "The trunks arrived in Ottawa late Monday night for a Tuesday opening.", I further joked about only the trunks showing up. That was a reference to the many cost savings things that tour management has instituted over the last few years in an attempt to streamline the costs of the running the show and which have been thoroughly discussed in other threads here on the Forum.

On a serious note, though, there are trunks in which the costumes, makeup etc. are packed and shipped via the trucks for the show. Also, each actor is allowed a trunk that contains their personal dressing room items and in which he/she can pack extra clothes to accomodate all the climate changes they go through as the tour travels about the continent.

I hope that answers your questions.

So what animal is grey all over and has a big trunk?

A mouse.

(one that's going on a long trip!)

Speaking of which,

I spotted some trunks this morning
as they were being offloaded at the
Queen E. theatre's loading dock.

You can see them too: http://www.flicker.com/photos/94622508@N06
