I see this was your first post on the forum, wca32. Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay here and will post often.

I believe he's referring to Alex Ko and Dayton Tavares, both on Broadway. Alex was out for five months with a knee injury and Dayton was out with a leg injury sustained during a "flying" sequence in the show and was out a little less than two months. Both recovered and continued performing in the show. Dayton is now "retired" and back in Australia and Alex is currently the senior Billy on Broadway.

I think that's probably correct. The article, however, makes it sound as though there were other Billys in the running to open the Broadway show. It doesn't read as though the writer is talking about Billys injured after the show had started. But so far as we know, the original three were always intended to be the original three.

Welcome to the forum, wca32. Hope you enjoy it here. :D

Jeff called in to Portland radio station KXL this morning, to talk about BETM. Here's an audio recording of that interview:

According to this article, Jeff is on the list of upcoming performances with the Topeka Symphony for its new concert season. He will perform with the orchestra on December 7. Included with this article is a great video of Jeff singing "Sarah," from
"The Civil War," by Frank Wildhorn. What a beautiful song, and what a beautiful performance!

Jeff is a fine person too. I had the opportunity to talk with him about his days as a music teacher in Kansas. Very down to earth individual.

I, too, had the chance to talk to Jeff several times when the tour was in Cleveland. He's very pleasant and humble - the total antithesis of Tony. That's what a great actor can do. It's a shame that in BETM we only get a glimpse of how good his voice is.

Indeed! An incredible actor and very humble--a really nice person.

And possibly the best Geordie accent - and proto-chav* - attitude -of the adult cast.

I speak as one who lived there during the miners' strike.

I didn't realize the miners would have been classified as "chavs," which as I understand it, means "council housed and violent," or roughly the same thing as "hoodlums."
