Don't you mean congratulations Landon?

More about the Hamburg Ballet Schule:

http://www.hamburgballett.de/d/schule.htm

In English:

Founded in 1978 in the Ballet School of the Hamburg Ballet young people from all over the world are trained aged 10 to 18 years old for the dance stage. Focus of the training is the classical academic dance. In addition, great emphasis is placed on good training in modern dance technique, dance composition and folklore.

The lessons take place in the center of Hamburg Ballet - John Neumeier. In the former "secondary school for girls in the Caspar-Voght-Straße" (OCV) in Hamm, one of the last buildings of the great Hamburg architect and city architect Fritz Schumacher, working both the Company of The Hamburg Ballet and the school in total new ballet studios. Also the school can accommodate 35 students housed in this building.

The entrance exams for ballet school place every year in the spring. The admission age for nursery is 7 to 9 years, for training classes 10 to 16 years and for theater classes 16 to 18 years (boys up to 19 years). Required physical fitness, rhythmic talent, dancing disposition, talent for improvisation and an age appropriate ballet technique.

Foreword by John Neumeier

First and foremost I am a choreographer. In order to realize my vision, I need Dancers, a Company that works with me and with whom I can develop choreography. Because I need dancers, well trained, who understand my choreographic language, they "talk" and can be physically implemented, I need a school that come from the young and renewal.

As a choreographer I wanted to build a Company that has a distinctive look, and to create a school that combines both: an informed, neutral in a sense, classical training and a personal touch - a school "with" and "without" style, "with style" because it is connected to a specific Company and tied to a specific choreographers.

However, is based on a solid, comprehensive dance education - "without style". The School of the Hamburg Ballet offers an intensive classical academic training, supplemented by instruction in modern dance technique in dance composition and folklore. This contemporary training gives young dancers the skills necessary to compete in today's dance world and exist in other ensembles, whether in Germany or abroad, whether the Béjart Ballet, the Ballet of the Dresden Semper Opera, the English National Ballet, or the Nederlands Dans Theater, to name just some of the dance companies that have hired graduates of the Hamburg School.

In practical work with the Hamburg Company, and my students learn to implement an individual choreographic handwriting. The ballet center with its narrow coexistence of school and ensemble gives us the opportunity to closely follow this basic concept. I think that is an essential experience for any adolescent dancers. It makes us aware that ballet both a very old, traditional art as well as a constantly expanding, vivid language that makes open to other styles, other form of movement, other choreographers.

High School

Since the school year 2011/12 there is the Gymnasium Hamm a "ballet-profile" .
The upper profile was set up specially for the students of the Ballet School of the Hamburg Ballet. Students from home and abroad have the opportunity, her ballet training and a high school to graduate in parallel. The profile was developed from the Gymnasium Hamm. The aim of the training / classic Bühnentänzzer r / in the Arrangement. The general standard of education is improved. Bases are optimal coordination of upper and ballet classes, and the crediting of the ballet performance scheduled for completion in the sense of "Sports Profile".

Landon has shared a link to a video on the Tudo Balarinas public Facebook page, of himself and a fellow dancer. While it is dated in July, I don't believe it has been posted here.

The more I see Landon dance, the more I regret that he was never able to progress beyond his Tall Boy role in BETM. Of course I'm sure he's progressed quite a bit since his days in the show, but today he certainly has wonderful grace and superb lines and balance as a dancer. He'll go far in the dance world for sure!
