Post by ERinVA »

Now that the show has opened in Seoul, I hope that any forum members who see it will post reviews here. I know that sctwins has seen it, so come on, Cha, give us your review. :D

Thank you sctwins for these very first reviews of the Korean production. Many fans of the show have been waiting for quite some time to see just how the show would be received in a non English speaking format and in a culture that is very different from where it has played in the past. The waiting is over.

It's very apparent from your reviews that the messages of the show translate well across cultural lines and that the musical numbers so loved by British, Australian and American fans of the show are well received in Korea. This bodes very well for the show's future in places like Japan, Germany and the Netherlands.

Congratulations to the production team, cast and crew!

Thanks sctwins for your reviews. It sounds like the show is going to do well there. I'm delighted that we actually had some members there to give us the real scoop.

Here is an official review from Korea Times. The critic attended the press night performance with Jung Jin-ho.

Great review, Cha!

As you know, I'm a big fan of reading about comparisons between versions of the show, so I really enjoyed that aspect of your review. I can't think of a person in a better position to make those comparisons than you -- with your deep exposure to the shows in New York and Chicago and your background as a native of South Korea.

Thanks for taking the time to share your wonderfully detailed impressions of the first three shows.

Thanks for your review, Cha. It's nice to get a view that compares the different versions of the show.
