Re: Rarmian Newton
Ummm.... I thought they were supposed to be dragons.
But seriously, thanks for a great account of this spectacular show, kport. I really would love to see it when it comes to DC. Glad you got to see Rarmian play Hiccup.

Arrgh! Caught! The perils of writing a review after a two hour drive at 1 a.m.!
Having said that, the 'dragons' are modeled after dinos, with only one (the one that Hiccup befriends) looking more like a Jim Henson puppet. I suppose kids relate better to dino-like characters, as they seem to have a fascination with them.

Re: Rarmian Newton
I read somewhere that the creatures were made by the same folks that made the dinos for the "Walking With Dinosaurs" exhibition that's been traveling around the country, so no doubt the family resemblance is evident.

Re: Rarmian Newton
That makes sense, Ellen. The dragon/dinos are remarkable lifelike, like those in 'Walking With Dinosaurs'. Truly remarkable.
Re: Rarmian Newton
If anyone is interested, the show's Facebook page has quite a lot of info and photos.

This is a an 8 month old press release. There was a pic I could not load

Set for March airing in the US
Rarmian Newton starring in the pilot episode of this project with Joan Allen will air on US network television in March.
Should I get a 100% sure air date, I will chime in. I am a deep cover, 4th level family member of the filming crew on this project.

Rarmian Newton coming to ABC-TV on March 3rd
The March 3rd episode of "The Family" is listed as a Special Premiere at the ABC website (http://abc.go.com/shows/the-family):
ABC's new thriller The Family follows the return of a politician’s young son who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier. As the mysterious young man is welcomed back into his family, suspicions emerge—is he really who he says he is?
The Family stars Joan Allen as Claire, Alison Pill as Willa, Margot Bingham as Sergeant Nina Meyer, Zach Gilford as Danny, Liam James as Adam, Floriana Lima as Bridey, Madeleine Arthur as Young Willa, Rarmian Newton as Young Danny, Rupert Graves as John and Andrew McCarthy as Hank.
I am led to believe that there is quite a bit of time shifting in this story as the main character has a missing 10-year block going on. Rarmian plays "Young Danny."
There are three video clips from the show.
So the long wait will soon be over. And of course we'll know if ABC buys extra episodes once those first ratings come in a day or so after the first air date.

Re: Rarmian Newton
I have been seeing teasers on ABC in the last few days advertising the premiere for this show. I guess I will have to watch it.
