Just a reminder that the cinema showing of a performance of Swan Lake, filmed live at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London, in January 2019, with Liam Mower as The Prince will be hitting the screens later this month. This link gives details of cinema venues. I’ve seen it live and looking forward to the silver screen take on it, with different angles and close ups.

Romeo & Juliet is opening at The Curve, Leicester on 13 May 2019 before continuing on tour. This is a short taster documentary.(Is that Nat Sweeney -#317 wearing red ballet tights - at various points during the Birmingham audition ? Video needs to be played at a slower speed, from around 2:30 onwards)

The Telegraph had a lengthy article yesterday on this new production of Romeo & Juliet, and how it is bringing forward a new generation of young dancers. This is subscription viewing only on line, so only a snippet provided (I prefer hard copy) but you may be able to take a free trial if interested. Harrison Dowzell will be Romeo in some performances. It looks like the traditional version has been given a good shaking !

Romeo & Juliet is now well into its tour schedule, concluding in Newcastle mid-October. Last night I went to see it at Birmingham Hippodrome. Rather than myself waffling on in an ineffectual way, best leave it to a professional reviewer. If you have the opportunity, get to see it !
