Florida Teen Will Attend Dutch National Ballet Academy

Jupiter, Florida resident Devon Luxton, 17, has won a place at the prestigious Dutch National Ballet Academy in The Netherlands. What is all the more amazing is that he's only been dancing for the past five years.

It's a story very familiar to fans of BETM. Devon credits his interest in ballet to having seen a regional production of the musical in Jupiter that starred Nick Dantes and Jamie Mann in 2015. "Inspired by the show and subsequent exposure to other dance musicals, Devon, then 11, told his parents he'd like to try ballet. His mother enrolled him in his first class on his 12th birthday at Paris Ballet and Dance, the Jupiter school founded in 2009 by former international ballet star Jean-Hugues Feray." According to Feray, Devon is "incredibly naturally talented" and has put in many hours of hard work to hone his talent over the past five years.
