yeah...I was so mad that I got spoiled beforehand. I don't know what possessed me to read those comments anyway...but you'd think that people would at least attempt to keep the spoilers away :(

But yeah...I have a feeling that once I do see it, it'll still be just as good. :)

I saw it on Aaron's first night back in the show from his hiatus in Seattle. I thought the performances were all top-notch, but can't say I was a fan of the show itself. I found the score underwhelming and the subject matter depressing and not very riveting. Not saying the show was bad by any means, just wasn't really my cup of tea.

I resisted listening to the soudtrack and reading any of the storyline of Next to Normal before seeing the show yesterday - as I wanted to see it 'fresh'. I really enjoyed it - the staging was very well done, the performance moving and the story thought-provoking. There were plenty of people in the theatre very emotionally involved with the show though in a way that I have to admit it didn't affect me - and I wondered whether I'd built it up in my mind into something it would find it difficult to live up to. The score was very well constructed and the intensity of the whole show came across very well - but to beat BE to 'best score' at the Tony's ... ? Off to see a show about a boy who wants to be a ballet dancer tomorrow night. Whatever next?!

N2N has just been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for drama.

http://theenvelope.latimes.com/news/la- ... 2369.story
The Pulitzer board made the rare but not unprecedented decision of ignoring the list of finalists submitted by the nominating jury. This year, the finalists were Rajiv Joseph's "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo," Kristoffer Diaz's "The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity" and Sarah Ruhl's "In the Next Room (or the vibrator play)."
Interesting :!:
