Re: Detroit Reviews
I can forgive the reviewer's confusion about who played Mrs. Wilkinson, but not the lack of appreciation for "Born to Boogie."

Here's a positive review from the Daily Tribune.

Re: Detroit Reviews
Great show tonight! Ben was fantastic, especially his jump-roping skills! I was so happy to see a packed house. Does anyone know if the tour has been successful? I've seen the Chicago, Toronto, and New York runs end so I'm a little concerned. Hopefully, it will stay around for a long time.
Re: Detroit Reviews
Last month's tour stop in Boston was very successful.

Re: Detroit Reviews
Here's another good review via The Examiner, albeit by a different reviewer than the earlier Examiner review:

Re: Detroit Reviews
And here's a not so glowing review from a blogger who starts out by saying:
"Unfortunately, the stage production of Billy Elliot the Musical at The Fisher Theater, pushed more agenda than a political convention."

'.....in the most dangerous city in America'. '....please excuse me and continue sipping that umbrella-"embellished daiquiri, relax and enjoy the convention, er, um I mean production.' Those quotes may give a clue to the reviewer's attitude. Do I sense an agenda here?porschesrule wrote:And here's a not so glowing review from a blogger who starts out by saying:

But, to be fair, it becomes more positive. Certainly, the production is praised, if not the book. (Although to state that 'the ensemble is well rehearsed' seems almost ludicrous - no ensemble has not only rehearsed but presented so well - in a multitude of venues - a Broadway production than BETM!)>

Re: Detroit Reviews
Patty Nolan actually posted 2 reviews about Billy Elliot for her Examiner topic http://www.examiner.com/theater-in-detroit/patty-nolan. I spoke to her privately after the first one and was happy to see she wrote an enthusiastic review after seeing the show too.
