I agree. There may even be critics who think that if they tear apart a much-lauded show, their review will carry more weight. Sort of anti-establishment. I can respect someone who genuinely disagrees with or dislikes something in the show, but when the review is just trashing it up and down, they obviously don't know what they're talking about. :D

Interesting ! I saw this kid and his dad at the stage door getting their poster signed. It was basically just the two of them and me at the stage door, as it's around behind the building hidden from view, so you don't just stumble onto it like at the Imperial in New York.

Thanks Ellen

"This is the best import by the Lexus Broadway Series so far. So don't pull that typical Dallas audience move of rushing up the aisle as soon as the curtain comes down. Billy Elliot actually ends with a happy-dance cum curtain call featuring the entire company changed from mining town grunge into sparkles and spangles. It's fabulously feel-good stuff. "
So Chicago is not alone in its rush to the doors. :D :D

Every curtain call is that way. They want to get to the parking lot. It was even crazier Sunday when the Mavericks fans were driving around the streets. The show is doing really well in Dallas though. Every show is almost entirely sold out. But it's funny to hear the rumors about the show from new Billy fans. One woman behind me told her friend she thought all the Billys were trained in Russia. Haha

Broadway is especially like that when you have big names in the cast. For example when I saw Dan in How to Succeed, quite a bit of the audience slipped out before the curtain call to get right up against the barricades outside the stage door. Between that and just general people charging for the door, the theatre was almost half empty by the end of the curtain calls.

On the other hand my home town of Minneapolis is the complete opposite, for example i went to a production of Guys and Dolls this afternoon and virtually the entire audience stayed at their seats (mostly standing) until after the curtain call had finished.
