BETM Chicago Schedules January 15 Closing

I was really sad to hear yesterday that the Chicago production is closing. It doesn't surprise me much since it's moving to Toronto but I had still hoped it would make it a little longer. What a great cast and production that I was so fortunate to see so many times. I'll definitely have to make a trip or two back so I can see it again before January. Canada's going to be pretty lucky to see what these performers can do!

Anyway, from what I see in the Toronto thread, the Chicago show was planned from the beggining to move to Toronto at about that time (early 2011).

Yes, it was planned to open there at that time, but I think they were leaving their options open as to whether to mount another production or move the Chicago one. Obviously, they decided on the latter choice.

I suppose the thought of having to form yet another production of 4 trained Billys might have been the major factor in their decision not to mount a new production to come to Toronto in early 2011, as promised . . . .rather than it being a case of the show not selling enough tickets in Chicago.

Well, Wicked is returning, so who knows? It might come back at some point.
