Re: Stephen Hanna, Older Billy
More good news for Ogunquit: The man who originated the role of Older Billy in the US (on Broadway) Stephen Hanna, will reprise that role at Ogunquit. The Billys will be in very good hands

Stephen's command of these roles (Older Billy and Scottish Dancer) is astounding. I would have to place his interpretations among - if not at - the top of the list of the six or seven I have seen over the years. He is both elegant and athletic (as well as very tall) which are attributes needed to carry out the role of 'flying commander', especially when the two Billys are not all that small.
What singles him out in this production is his hilarious twist to the Scottish Dancer scene: whereas Dad is clearly uncomfortable/embarrassed by the sight of a male dancer in tights, Stephen twists the comedic knife by posing with his right big toe engaging his leg in stretches that are, well, fantastic foils for Dad's embarrassment. I have never heard an audience laugh as much at that scene as it does when played by Stephen and Armand.

Stephen Hanna was one of the great gifts of the Broadway production, and is worth a trip to Ogunquit just to see him, I'm sure!!! Wonderful guy too!!!

https://www.postandcourier.com/features ... 77ae5.htmlThe artistic journeys of Hanna and Fabyanic began at a shared, single point and often followed a similar trajectory, diverging significantly twice, but then converging once again in Charleston. So in a sense, this is a story about a happy reunion of friends who shared childhood aspirations, found success in New York City and elsewhere, and now are paying it forward.
