According to two tweets on the public twitter of Colin Garland, who has produced several short films on YouTube (Red Handed Films), child actor Cameron Clifford, who has previously appeared on Broadway in the 2009 revival of "Waiting for Godot" (http://broadwayworld.com/people/Cameron_Clifford/), will soon be playing the role of Michael in BETM Broadway. Here are the tweets:

"MY FAVORITE CHILD ACTOR WHO IS IN ALL MY MOVIES IS GOING TO PLAY MICHAEL IN BILLY ELLIOT ON BROADWAY. AAUGHH OH MY GOD A STAR AMONG US."

and

"Guys Cameron Clifford is going to be in one of the premier child actors on Broadway in months. We all know him (he's my student just sayin)"

Colin's twitter is http://twitter.com/thecolingarland/

Cameron stars in this sample of Colin's YouTube video work in a short film called "Ain't It Fabuloso?":

We have had other cases where someone tweeted or posted on a public facebook that their student was going to be in the show, and then it turned out not to be true, so I think we'll wait a bit on that.

This public facebook page of Cameron's school also says he got the role of Michael and in a comment underneath the post, his mother confirms that Cameron was in Billy School for a year and finally did get the Michael role. http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?s ... 4563135180

It's nice that the kids and their parents are very approachable at the Imperial stage door.

Ha actually I didn't approach them, Thommie Retter (Mr. Braithwaite) approached me outside the stage door while he was talking to Cameron. And that lead to hanging out with him and his mom briefly there outside the imperial stage door, and then going over to the stage door at the Hirschfeld to wait for Daniel and John. (Yes I got both of their autographs as well) Clifford was quite the ladies man outside that stage door. Fun night
