My votes? Anything by Dean Stockwell from the 40's and 50's and Freddie Bartholomew from the '30s would make my list.

Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz or Elizabeth Taylor in National Velvet? Not that I would necessarily vote for either, but you're right about not going back far enough. That's the problem with these lists... They don't cover the whole timeline.

This looks to me like "of the last 30 years", as I believe E.T. is the oldest film on the list.

I might add that I didn't see Jamie Bell on the list, as he should have been. And they forgot River Phoenix in Running on Empty.

Ah well, we all have our favorites. I would have included Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee who gave a brilliant performance in "The Road." But that's just me.

Which is a shame. The finest child actors I've seen (IMO) are often in films from the UK, Canada, and Australia. Perhaps we need a top 10 list without regard to a film's origin.
