I sang the alto solo of the Chichester Psalms there under Leonard Bernstein when I was a lad. And quite a few other things.

I grew up not far from Hartford and also have fond memories of the Bushnell as a youngster. School field trips to the Bushnell to see some show/concert were very common. I'll have to plan a trip to see BE when it plays there.kport wrote: Ah..the Bushnell.

I remember those! It was a subscription series for elementary school kids......we went in by yellow buses. I recall hearing Lowell Thomas give his Lawrence of Arabia show that he rekindled when the David Lean movie came out.Rich B wrote:I grew up not far from Hartford and also have fond memories of the Bushnell as a youngster. For those planning on visiting Hartford when BETM plays there in June, I would strongly recommend a side visit to the Mark Twain House and Museum there:

The Mark Twain House is a must!
Virtually next door is the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, where she wrote 'Uncle Tom's Cabin'.

Not far from the Bushnell is the Wadsworth Atheneum, worth a visit:
