Hi Rob, I use Google maps to explore a new city before making travel plans. I will be staying at the Hilton (315 TRUMBULL STREET). Some of the others will be at Residence Inn, which is about a block away. Both are within a half mile of the theater.

Hotel prices in the downtown area were not very attractive when I made my reservations. I was able to get a good package price with air fare. If you are driving there you can probably find some much cheaper rooms outside of the downtown area. It would be great to see you there. :D

I thought you weren't going, Chris! That's just another reason for me to try and go. I'm just pricing some of it out, like hotel and car rental and so on. I know there aren't great seats left, but just to be there would be special.

Just happened to tune in to an episode of "Man Vs. Food" tonight which featured restaurants in Hartford, CT ! This place looked especially interesting: Ted's Restaurant, which specializes in steamed cheeseburgers (as opposed to grilled, flame-broiled, etc.) Sounds kind of weird, but they looked very good in the TV show ! http://www.tedsrestaurant.com/

Just be advised that neither of the locations of that restaurant are right within the city of Hartford. You'd need a car to get to them as they are in outlying towns about 20 minutes away from the downtown Hartford area.

I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express across the park from the Bushnell. They recommend the Black Bear Saloon which is right next to the Holiday Inn Express (about 4 blocks from Bushnell) I checked out the web site and it looks like a great spot. Good menu reasonable prices It might be a good gathering place for between shows on Sat and Sun. Check it out.

Funny you should mention it. I have been waiting to propose a forum get together at Vito's By the Park between shows on Saturday. Here's their website: http://www.vitosct.com/park.htm

Once I know who wants to come, I'll call for a reservation. The Saturday matinee, which begins at 2:00, should be over at around 4:45, and the evening performance begins at 8:00, so I think a reservation for 6:00 PM should work.

PM me if you would like to add your name to the list for Vito's By the Park on Saturday, June 22. I'll keep a list, and a few days prior to that Saturday, I'll call to reserve space.

I found a description of a fascinating hot dog place in Hartford, Woody's. I take it they are only open for lunch and are a bit hard to find, but they are in the downtown area, off Main Street. It seems this place has every type of hot dog imaginable, including the "deputy dog," which is topped with pulled pork, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce! They also sell burgers and fries. Might be worth looking up in June.

Seems like this was one of the other restaurants they showed on the "Man Vs. Food" episode of Hartford restaurants. Can't remember if they said it was Woody's, but it was a hot dog place that featured a 2-foot-long hot dog.
