Here's a story about someone we don't hear a lot about - a Billy Elliot musician. As the interview points out, with a show so heavily based on dance the relationship with rhythm is especially important and drummer Tim Weller is responsible for producing a good rhythm:

Thanks for that link. When I sit on the front row in London, I always enjoy watching this guy down there under the stage deck.

Re: West End Drummer
Tim Weller has some great credits besides BETM - he is drummer in Will Young's 2011 album that went straight to #1 in the UK, as well as for an eclectic UK bank called The Divine Comedy. I have a sneaking suspicion he was in the school in which I worked back then - the description of his junior school exactly matches what I recall back in 1981 when he would have started drums there. He has done well for himself - I will ask next time I am at the VP if he is the same one.
His list of 'Clubs' on his MySpace bio is great: 'Off Games'! Now that really WOULD make him an old boy musician of that school!

I haven't sat on that side of B row for quite a while but I have a feeling that they have now put in obscure glass. I'll check tonightERinVA wrote:Thanks for that link. When I sit on the front row in London, I always enjoy watching this guy down there under the stage deck.
