And here's yet a fourth review, this one from the blog "Occupy My Family":

http://occupymyfamily.wordpress.com/201 ... rch-13-18/

This is a generally positive review, though the reviewer confuses actors' names and mis-spells character names (Mrs. Wilibanks??) in several places. And while we all know Joel Blum is a very versatile actor, him playing Michael (according to the reviewer) is a bit of a stretch.

ATTENTION--PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT OF BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL

"The past few years I've traveled to NYC to catch a show on Broadway, I've seen the name Billy Elliot, music by Elton John, with this picture of a young boy jumping in the air. I thought it was a kid's show or frankly some silly, light hearted dancing child story. I couldn't have been more wrong. The story hits very serious topics such as the struggle of a coal mining town to defend itself for worker's rights, the loss of a mother in a child's life, and most importantly - finding a part of yourself that isn't the normal, socially accepted, status quo and having your own parents not only not support you, but strip you of what you love and are good at in life to be something they want you to be."

This reviewer from Atlanta went to New York for several years in a row to see Broadway shows. From your publicity, she thought BETM was a children's show, silly, and with children-quality dancing. This should ring a bell and tell you why so many people never give the musical a chance. Stop the silly promotions where a Billy and Michael teach a morning show host how to dance, and target your audience to adults. Go for the dad and mom who need something that they can enjoy with their increasingly alienated tween or teen. Promote the fact that the show can motivate and change the life of all who view it. Dancing is great, but the story is timeless.
