"paralympics' I believe, not 'Paralytics'.

Although the 'paralytics' will be seen emerging from the pubs at the wee hours......!

Very enjoyable opening ceremony. Favourite moment - the Queen greeting Mr. Bond 007 at the Palace and then jumping into the stadium by parachute from a helicopter

During the ceremony there was at least one Billy Elliot moment - a very brief shot from the film with Billy at Michael's house (Michael wearing a dress).

Loved the Queen with Bond jumping out of the helicopter!

We are on tape delay, so I haven't seen Billy yet, but I could swear that Phil Snowden was one of the industrialists. 8-)

Let me tell you, Danny Boyle has done a masterful job with this $40 million spectacle. Early British civilization to the Industrial Revolution, a surprising tribute to NHS, and then of course to culture over the years (sadly no Elton John...). Even the Parade of Nations has been streamlined. Great start to what is sure to be a brilliant Olympic games!

The Billy Elliot clip made me so happy, I knew they were going to include the movie some how. 8-)

The Billy clip was nice but if you blinked, you missed it. As Ellen said, it was tape delayed here in the US. For those who taped it, Billy appeared at 9:06 Eastern time 8-)

At 9:00 pm I THINK I saw Layton in red shirt and orange vest during My Generation and a couple more times after...I could be wrong.
