Exactly, I thought they did - hence why I was confused!

At a show I was at recently I began to wonder if the cast were wearing them at all due to the number of times the first few words were missed.

Voice projection is the strength of speaking or singing whereby the voice is used loudly and clearly. It is a technique which is used to command respect and attention like a performer in a theatre.

Breath technique is an essential requirement for proper voice projection. In talking normally one may use air from the top of one's lungs. However, a true projected voice uses air properly flowing from the expansion of the diaphragm. In good vocal technique well-balanced respiration is especially important to maintaining vocal projection. The objective is to isolate and relax the muscles controlling the vocal folds so that they are unimpaired by tension. The external intercostal muscles are used only to enlarge the chest cavity whilst the counterplay between the diaphragm and abdominal muscles is trained to control airflow.

Jack Bromage-Eccles has it in spades.

What a coincidence - I actually read a thread on here that directs itself exactly at this problem only last night!. I'm not sure if it was about NY, London or elsewhere but I can't imagine that'd make a difference. It says that the reason that sometimes happens is microphone cues or something. Have a read of it yourself :D

Had the good fortune of seeing Jack and Millie (new Debbie) on Saturday. Jack certainly packs a punch. He is tiny (had to fake the kiss in the Christmas scene as he was far too short to reach Kain's cheek) but a real ball of energy and is off to a very promising start - I think there are great things to come from Jack.

He plays the end scene, on the bike as Billy leaves, in quite an upbeat fashion. Not my preference but I guess it is a valid interpretation to have an upbeat Michael who is pleased that his friend 'escaped' to a new life.

'New Michael's Join West End Production of Billy Elliot'

A possessive apostrophe to denote a plural?
