Publicity for Clearwater

Post by kport »

The first ads for the upcoming visit to Clearwater appeared in Sunday's Tampa Bay Times. Time to open a page for upcoming publicity.

Only three performance! Drat!

Checking ticket sales, about 90-95% of the seats are sold; the good news is that the Ruth Eckerd Hall has good sight lines from all seats.

All three performances should be a sell out.

I was quite surprised when I was looking for tickets, that most tickets were taken shortly after they went on sale. I am guessing they are season pass holders. I was lucky enough to get tickets for all three shows. One show, I am bringing my parents for the first time, another show I am bringing a friend and the third show, I am on my own! I wish they were here for more than three shows. I am going to extend my billython though by driving up to Jacksonville when they are there in a few weeks! :)

The standard publicity article appears in the Tampa Bay Newspapers' website:

There was another large Billy ad in this Sunday's Tampa Bay Times (the 'Jump' photo one).

I understand about two thirds of the seats are held by season pass holders.

You are correct kport! That is why on the first day the tickets were on sale, most of the tickets were taken. Plus the theater is not that large.

Drew seems to have been chosen as the focus for publicity .... he may have assumed Daniel Russell's title as the 'pocket rocket' that goes down a treat with the audience. But ALL Billys are fantastic!!!!

(Nice to see the plug at the bottom for those wanting to be Billy. This is the home of the Next Generation Ballet, at the Patel Conservatory, under the direction of the amazing Peter Stark, which produced Ethan Fuller and currently hosts Landon Harris.)

Short (no more than ten or fifteen second) tv ads are popping up regularly on the local public tv station.
