Dream Scene / Small with Tall Billies Scene

Post by Eltonjohn »

My program only lists the 'numbers' that were written by me (Elton John), in order of presentation.

If the Dream Scene 'vocal-less number' was inserted into the sequence, which numbers appear just before and just after the 'small and tall Billies wire suspension' pas de deux? I just don't know my plot line and scenes as well as I would like to (and should!)

The opening of Act 2 precedes the Dream Ballet. First you have "Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher," and then you have "Deep Into the Ground." After everyone else exits, Billy and Michael do what most of us call the Winter Scene, where Michael tries to persuade Billy to teach him some "dancin' ." After Michael leaves, Billy turns on the tape of Swan Lake and begins spinning the chair, at which point the scenery parts and Older Billy appears.

The Wikipedia article gives a good plot summary, including when each piece of music is used.
