I am curious how they will translate some of the more "colorful" language for the audience. In theaters since 2005, when it premiered in London, Billy Elliot will come the first time to South America, landing in Sao Paulo in August for a short season: will be only three weeks between 2-18 at Credicard Hall. It is, therefore, the original American production, which will be presented in English, with subtitles in Portuguese.

Mrs Wilkinson's famous line translates thus (I will edit for discretion's sake):
'Você f*c*ing especial.'
Methinks the colloquialisms make present a few issues. Example:
Mr Braithwaite's aside to Billy : 'Você pouco w*nker'
They need Giuseppe's dad on the staff to sort the language issues out ....stat!

Giuseppe's dad is Italian. It's his mother who is from Brazil.
