Do yourself a big favor and watch this documentary about Guillaume Cote, Canada's premier male dancer, as he creates the role of Nijinsky for the National Ballet of Canada's North American premier of the ballet, "Nijinsky," by choreographer John Neuenmeyer. This is well worth roughly a half hour of your time.

In December I was cast as a supernumerary guard in a production of Romeo & Juliet by Canada's National Ballet. As I had to help lift and carry off a mortally wounded Tybalt at the end of Act I, I would do a light warm up before each performance to be limber so as to not falter or stumble on stage. On opening night, it was just me and a company member warming up in the secluded, lesser studio. Days later I learned that my fellow stretcher, G. Côté, was making his come back performance on that opening night, having been sidelined with a bad knee injury for the past year.
