From all accounts, Matteo certainly went out at the top of his game. Best wishes for much success to him in all his future endeavors.

I spent some time this week booking a hotel and tickets for my next solo visit to see "Billy Elliot" in May. My hope was to see Matteo again after being thrilled by his performances when I saw him last year. Yesterday I did my usual Saturday afternoon ritual, this time an away match, and was horrified when I got home to find that he was already in the middle of his final show.

I know all the Billys are wonderful, but there are some that just insinuate themselves into your heart and consciousness, and Matteo is one of those. It's purely a personal thing, and I've had the same reaction to several other Billys over the last few years and always for different reasons.

So I am still recovering from last night's shock, but I wish Matteo all the best for his future career.

I'm already looking forward to seeing Thomas, the new Billy, and probably seeing Ollie, Bradley and Brodie again in May. Onwards and upwards!

I had the pleasure of watching Matteo on many occasions during his 10 month stint as Billy and apart from his natural acting and dancing ability the things that always stood out were his enthusiasm and personality. He had these in abundance.
I wish him every success in the future.

Remember, permission was given only for photos AFTER the chair lift, so there should not have been any photos taken during the show itself, including the finale--only photos of the final curtain calls. If anyone has any photos that meet those parameters, we would be happy to see them posted.
