Very sad to see Kiril go, but it appears the casting miracle-workers have indeed cast their net and found what promises to be another extraordinary Billy. Welcome, Alex!

I noticed that article said that Alex would be in a rotation of 5 Billys. Is there another new one joining the cast that we haven't heard about I wonder, or was that a typo ? Also, I noticed they mentioned a gentleman from Iowa who supposedly inspired the story of Billy Elliot. Wonder if there's some truth to that or is it just speculation on the part of the writer of the article ?

Actually it says that he's the fifth boy to play Billy on Broadway... which is NOT accurate, the fifth boy would be TANNER, but they're choosing to ignore the fact that he was here apparently. :x Sorry, Alex, you're number six! We're still excited about your arrival, tho :)
LONDON: Liam M (1), Tom (3), Rhys Y (2), Dean Charles (1); NEW YORK: Trent (11), Tommy (10), Kiril (9), David (8), Tanner (3), Liam R (3), Dayton (3), Michael D (3), Alex (2), Jacob (1); CHICAGO: Tommy (1), Giuseppe (1), Cesar (1) = 63 shows total :)

I'm going to have to give a thumbs-down to the article writer's choice of words (from the Daily Iowan article):
“It’s Broadway,” the 13-year-old squeaked. “I can’t wait to be Billy Elliot.”
Not too many 13-year-old boys would appreciate having their voice described like that ! Not sure how necessary it was to say it that way.

Here's an excellent article from the University of Iowa about Alex:

I'm not sure if this was already posted on here. It's a dance performance from August 2008. You can definitely see why Alex will make a great Billy.
