They could have had to stop it for some reason because of a technical problem and start it again. That happens in live performances fairly often. I don't know if the show was broadcast in real time, or at a later time, so it's possible that something like that could have happened, and the live audience would have seen it, but it would have been edited out before it was broadcast.
