Someone explain to me before my head explodes.
OK, since we previously cheered Haydn Gwynne in the role of Mrs. Wilkinson, and now we have Haydn May playing Billy Elliot, what's the story on the name Haydn apparently being gender fluid (or whatever it's called)?
Is it like Robin, or Pat?
Is it an English naming thing?
I've never encountered a Haydn anywhere but in a BETM production at the VPT, or soon, in Plymouth.

That link did not take me to an explanation of the name Haydn.

A variation on this, at least in the US, Hayden appears to be a common boy's name. Hayden Christensen appeared in two of the Star Wars prequel movies. Hayden Signoretti was one of the young boys in Finding Neverland. I have never encountered a Haydn prior to BETM.

No, thats because the last closing bracket was missed out when creating the link.ERinVA wrote:That link did not take me to an explanation of the name Haydn.
Try this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayden_(given_name)
Re: Haydn May - Billy
The link is correct, when copied and pasted. For some reason, the final parenthesis will not copy and paste, as part of the active link, into this site (it pastes in black, disassociating itself from the active clickable link, which is in blue). It will paste and actively link, when clicked, when I paste it into any other address bar, such as Facebook, my company blog, etc. Strange that only this site is affected.htcpt wrote:No, thats because the last closing bracket was missed out when creating the link.ERinVA wrote:That link did not take me to an explanation of the name Haydn.

It's always helpful to me to preview a post to see if a link has actually "taken" (turned blue and become clickable) before submitting the post. That way, if something isn't working, I can go back and fix it.
As for why this site doesn't like the final parenthesis, I have no clue. I guess we can always "Blame Canada".

Re: Haydn May - Billy
My immediate thought, because of the spelling, was that there might be a Welsh connection. The following link suggests this might be the case. Haydn is from Bath, which is just across the Bristol Channel from Wales - although with the mobility of people nowadays, that is not necessarily a clincher
