Charlie Pelletier (Terryville) stars as Billy Elliot, of which his life parallels that of the main character. Charlie, in eighth grade attending Waterbury Arts Magnet School, is a trained dancer, whose recent credits include “Fritz” (Nutcracker) and “Jesus” (Godspell Jr.) at WAMS, in addition to a Season 3 episode of TLC’s Dance Moms. Bullied for his love of dancing, of which he has been practicing for over 9 years, that all changed when he was profiled in the Republican American in 2013. Since then, he has garnered over 4,000 followers on Instagram and has become a recurrent Broadway auditioner, trying for parts in “Matilda.” Under the Direction of Katherine Ray, who last directed “Young Frankenstein” at Landmark, with Music Direction by Michael Berkeley and Choreography by Jeri Kansas (both newcomers to the Thomaston Opera House stage) Charlie has exceled in the role, adding a new talent of ‘singing’ to his repertoire.
