The Venice production probably uses the most amount of swearing of any in America; and nobody seems to care! There are at least two dozen uses of the "F-word" along with other vulgarities. Maybe this art-centered city is more accepting of other cultures than your average small town.

The swearing gives a sense of reality along with the Geordie-light accent that still allows the American ear to pick up all the dialogue. The scenery is just short of Broadway quality, and the theatre is so intimate that we all seem to be part of Easington. Staging and music is top notch, and all actors excell.

This is the best production that you will find anywhere; it will make you forget that Broadway is closed. It is that good! The only improvement would be if this show continued through the winter so thousands more could attend. Since it is almost sold out, get whatever seat that you can since they are all great. Hopefully, all future regionals will use the Venice Theatre as the standard of excellence.

Sadly the Venice Theatre was severely damaged from Hurricane Ian. Yikes, this looks horrible. They have vowed to rebuild.
