I find it very interesting that sometimes we get a lot of publicity early on about boys who are in Billy training, as with Harris, and other times, we get nothing at all, as with Kaine. The inconsistency is maddening!

Well, Harris looks perfect for Billy! And yes, a real showman which means another great asset to the show! Can't wait to see him onstage!

Couldn't agree more with you Ellen. I mean with Kaine it was crazy! We didn't even know if there was a new Billy starting this week and it was only confirmed Saturday evening that he would start on Monday!!! And we didn't know his last name or what the kid looked like until Monday! I'm still relatively new to this and not sure what was done the previous years but is this common? I mean knowing absolutelly nothing about the new Billy until the last minute? Since I started being a regular, I know that we had some info about Aaron and Scott and a little less (or almost no info) about Josh and Ryan. Well I had heard that there was a new street Billy named Ryan months before his debut but no real info. And of course we had heard a few things about Adam. But this with Kaine is a first!

maybe it's a family thing. Maybe Kaine (or his family) asked to keep it a secret. Not sp much pressure on him I guess...

Another example of life mirroring art, here's a story about 11-year-old Archie Sherman, who has just been accepted at the Royal Ballet School in London beginning in September.

Here's a story about another young man who has made it to the final cut of BETM auditions - Mathew Lyons:

Interesting article.

Also interesting is the news about his friend, who did not make the cut for BETM, but may have a shot at a new Warner Brothers film about the origins of Peter Pan, starring Hugh Jackman:

Here's another story about a real life Billy Elliot. Eleven-year-old Brodie Donougher of Lancashire has been awarded a place at the Royal Ballet School in London and will enroll in September. Sort of reminds you of Liam Mower's path to the VPT. While there's no indication Brodie's even interested in actually being in BETMUK, it certainly sounds like he could fill that role.

It seems unlikely that a boy (or girl, for that matter) accepted full time into the Royal Ballet School would have the time to devote to becoming part of the cast of BETM. Surely, being accepted on a scholarship would entail complete commitment to that institution? I could not imagine a residential chorister of St Paul's Cathedral being allowed to take part in Libera, even if it were logistically possible.

Liam Mower tried to do both and ended up leaving the RBS because it was an untenable situation. He made the choice to stay with Billy. In the end, after he finished school, he studied at the Rambert School of Dance instead of going back to the RBS.
