Gobsmacked!
My first experience of the Mrs Wilkinson understudy tonight. Good performance overall although voice not as convincing / strong as Joanna's and relationship with Billy not as strong. Enjoyed the show though - of course!

i saw her as mrs. wilkinson 3 times and she was so wonderful!!!!
if she is leaving i have to see her one more time before that!!!! it's a pity i live in germany - so it's not very easy for me to see the show....

A marvelous actress, but all marvelous award winning actresses are in demand, so I'm not surprised she has places to go. Good luck Joanna.

Nothing has been said at this point about Joanna leaving. But a year in the role is a typical run for Mrs. Wilkinson, and it has been mentioned in various articles that Genevieve Lemon, who was unable to come to Chicago, will take over the role in London at some point.

Funnily enough I spoke to Chris Hatt about Genevieve Lemon coming in June and would that then mean that Joanna would be leaving. He said that nothing has been decided yet.

We were both of the same opinion that Joanna is a remarkable Mrs W. I said to him that the final scene with Billy is so touching that I find myself filling up every time. Chris said "I see it every day and it has the same effect on me".

i read it on wikipedia - billy elliot musical cast but i wasn't sure if it is true.
i would like to go to london in autum but when joanna is leaving i would try to go earlier to see her one last time, because i think she really IS mrs. wilkinson!!! more than anyone else... but it also depents on prices for flights

Joanna will leave the London show on May 29, 2010 and will be replaced by Genevieve Lemon who is scheduled to debut on May 31st:

Aw, good luck to Joanna in the future, she was awesome. But so was Genevieve. I really liked them both.
