With only twelve performances listed, surely one Billy would be capable of filling that role?

While one boy playing the role of Billy is physically possible, these local productions should be discouraged from placing all that pressure on a child. Any young performer should be able to take a night off because of physical or mental fatigue, or injury, without feeling that he is disappointing hundreds of people.
Liam Redford has been one of the strongest performers night after night, but even he needed physical therapy. Saving money is not a good reason to over work developing bodies and minds.

Production Postponed
From the White Theatre website:
https://www.thejkc.org/index.php?src=ge ... pLmJ8cd6QYWhile we were planning on extraordinary safety measures for cast, crew, staff and audience members (spaced-out seating, masks, nightly cleaning/sanitization measures, etc.),we simply can’t provide an environment that is completely safe, especially with a big dance extravaganza like this show.
We are so sorry that we will not be able to perform this great show for you and share its important message of solidarity, empowerment, and familial love during this difficult time.
It is our hope to offer Billy Elliot as part of our 2020-21 season, so that all the good work and planning that have been invested in this production to date are not completely in vain.

They have announced a 2021/22 season with no BETM. Hopefully it will be considered for a future year. Changing status from postponed to cancelled.
