Yes, but for the same time period last year (week ending 9/19/10), Billy Elliot had gross ticket sales $913, 386. So, sales actually declined by more than 31% ($285,237) from the same period last year. Not a good sign.

A similar trend can be seen comparing the months of August 2010 and August 2011. For example, gross ticket sales for the week ending 8/22/2010 were $1,039,995. For the week ending 8/21/2011, sales were $731,895. Again, a reduction of nearly 30% ($308,100).

Well, the truth is that no broadway show can run forever( much to the dismay of Disney and Andrew Lloyd Weber ;) ). I think we all should enjoy the show while we can and try to see it when possible, in the hopes that it will help somewhat. I'm not too worried about it's fate, I think it's got a couple more years left.

We need to remember that Billy Elliot is like sky writing: something beautiful that only lasts for a short time.
